The Book

The foundation and heart of the project.

This book started as a personal attempt to understand my own skating.

Over the years, I kept running into the same challenge. Wizard-style Skating feels intuitive when you practice it, but it is surprisingly difficult to explain. When people started asking questions, I noticed how quickly explanations became abstract, fragmented, or overly technical.

I realised that Wizard-style Skating is complex, not because it is complicated, but because many things are happening at the same time. Body mechanics, attention, creativity, intention, and style all interact. Trying to explain that without structure often leads to confusion.

When I was asked to host a workshop at the first edition I of re:Turn Berlin I started to bring structure to all those insights & experiences I’ve learned of the past 5 years.

Writing this guide allowed me to explore the depths of Wizard-style Skating. This style is more than tricks, it’s a practice like yoga, promoting a certain lifestyle and attitude. Skating will become a much richer experiences this way and if you open yourself up to it you can learn to express yourself in your own way.

Wizard-style is personal, there are no right or wrongs. We all walk the same path, but in different ways. The book will help you develop your own internal compass and navigate through the challenges that come with learning it.
